A very rare vintage authentic bamboo brass hinged pen or pencil case, made from a large diameter authentic bamboo rod, which contains a hand-crafted bamboo calligraphy pen or ink dip pen. Three little brass hinges hold the dual lids closed with two decorative brass openers on the front. The inner black velvet-like fabric lined compartment is continuous, i.e. the smaller hinged compartment is not separate. Each end of the bamboo case ends is gilded. authentic The pen itself is beautiful. It is made from another much smaller diameter piece of bamboo which has an even r smaller diameter bamboo nib, hand crafted into a pointed, sharp nib. A beautiful gift for a writer or artist, and very collectible. I have not been able to find anything comparable, so very rare.
