A good clean example of James and Ralph Clew's Staffordshire pattern depicting American scenes and landscapes. The view is of West Point, NY on the Hudson. There has been a military presence at West Point, NY since 1778 making it the oldest continuously operating Army post in the United States. The United States Military authentic Academy at West Point, NY was established in 1802.
The plate measures 7 3/4 inches in diameter. The plate is in very good condition. No chips or cracks or repairs. Please see pictures. The last two show a minor bruise to inside rim and a slight dotted discoloration. There is a tiny amount of brown coloration on rim in a few spots. Very minor for a nearly 200 year old plate.
