Though he is most famous for creating Raggedy Ann & Andy, Johnny Gruelle wrote stories about lots of other characters. Johnny Mouse first appeared in a series of stories Gruelle wrote for Woman's World Magazine in the early 1920s called "Johnny Mouse and the Woozgoozle." In 1922, the stories were reprinted in a book called "Johnny Mouse and the Wishing Stick." The original 1922 version has become very scarce and is almost impossible to find. This 1973 reprint is also quite uncommon.
