A fantastic, very collectible and sought after Stratton ‘Initial' Compact, unused, with its original instructions and the little brass key that is essential for changing the initial set into the lid.
It's a lovely gift to buy someone - you could then change the initial to theirs to personalise the compact (the instructions are very clear on how to do this and it's quite easy).

The compact is the convertible type, in very good condition and clearly has never been used, which is evident from the little original sticker on the mirror stating “real diamond cut front.”

Although the compact is unused, please note that there are minor surface scuffs, most notably, a small tarnished area near the clasp, (see last photo) in keeping with the age of the compact - the last one mentioned could be from overzealous polishing.

As mentioned, lid is diamond cut, in a subtle geometric design. At first glance it looks like just stripes, but on closer inspection there is a tiny design of wavy lines in between the stripes.

The base is signed 'Stratton' in the centre and has the tiny dots and faint stripes design of Stratton's 1970s compacts.

Comes in a Stratton box, that although also vintage is not just as old as the compact, I suspect the box is late 1980s -1990s. The Box is in excellent condition with no torn parts.
