Art print by artist Alexander Edwards (Brumhaus).
To commemorate this year's Art In The Park Festival in Leamington Spa I decided to bring out a new print. Having already made my Leamington Spa and Coventry prints I thought the Jephson Memorial would be a good addition to my Warwickshire collection. The domed building is located in Jephson Gardens where the event is held every year.
Jephson Memorial is a Corinthian-style temple which was built in 1849. Inside is a large marble statue of local legend Dr Henry Jephson. It was Jephson who helped to promote the healing properties of the town's spa waters and built houses for the town's poor residents. The statue is by Birmingham sculptor Peter Hollins.
