With a close look at an authentic production, these admirable medieval shoes were made. They almost do not differ from a reversible sewn shoe, but are much more stable in structure.
As in the High and Late Middle Ages, the shoes are made entirely of genuine leather and extremely stable. 
The sole was made of thick leather in the nail-through process. This makes it more robust than reversible sewn shoes, as the sole rubs less quickly.
Finds of these medieval shoes can be found in many museums. Similar shoe finds already exist in earlier times. Among other things, this type of shoe can also be found in the work "Shoes and Patterns" by Francis Grew and Margarethe de Neergaard and is dated 1100-1450.

If you want to wear the shoes with insole and thick socks, you can choose the specified shoe size. You should then have enough space for inserts and socks. If, on the other hand, you want to wear the shoes without an insole or with thin socks, we recommend choosing a number smaller than your street shoe size.

On the color of medieval shoes:
This shoe model is delivered undyed and ungreased in natural brown. Thus, the shoe can still be dyed or simply greased. Greasing protects and nourishes the footwear. We therefore strongly recommend that you grease the shoes regularly.
