The Atlas moth is the second large moth in the world. Its wingspan can reach almost 12“. The females are bigger than the males. The wing pattern in shades of brown is centrally windowed and the wingtips resemble to snake heads to protect from predators. The habitat is tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia, China and India. In its imaginal stage the lifespan of two weeks is very short.
