Product code: Vintage Henry Steig Sterling Silver authentic Link Bracelet
Mid-Century Modernist 3 Dimensional Cuff authentic Bracelet by renowned jeweler/designer/artist Henry Steig. A renaissance man in every sense, he was a successful musician, painter, sculptor, writer before taking up jewelry design and manufacture. His Lexington Ave store in NYC drew clients from all over and his store was frequented by celebrities of the day, including Ella Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Taylor to name some. In the famous scene from "Seven Year Itch" (pictured above) with Marilyn Monroe on the subway grate, Steig's store is seen left of the scene. This multiple link bracelet could have been worn on its own or used as a charm bracelet. The box/tongue clasp also has a safety chain for security but with a measurement of a little over 3/4" wide, as are the links, the chain seems to be overkill. None the less, it's there for peace of mind. I would guess that this handmade piece dates from the 60's. It does have a couple very minor - what I would call dents - in the clasp Free US shipping.
