Natural solid white opal with a freeform cabochon cut (flat back and smooth top) from Australian mines. This loose crystal opal gemstone has a lovely play of colour with predominant blue, green, and red in a pinfire pattern. Perfect for a unique piece of jewelry.
The pictures are shot in natural sunlight to show the play of colours at its best.

Due to its hardness, Opal is suitable for all-purpose in jewelry.
Opal (from the Sanskrit "upala" meaning jewel) is a form of Silica with water content usually ranging from 6 to 10%. Opals are mainly found in Australia, Mexico, the United States, and more recently in Ethiopia.
