Authentic Mr. John Classic '50s Blue Wide Brim Lady's Hat, Elegant Lady's Hat, Garden Party Hat, Mid century wide brim hat

This is such a striking Mr. John Hats. Actually, if it's any Mr. John, it's striking. This one is from the 1950s. For sure. Saw my mother wearing it. It is in wonderful condition. I can only describe what it seems to be made of, because I just can't tell. It is visibly woven, but not at all straw. When you touch it, it feels like a silk or linen, or a combination. Maybe you can tell me.

The blue isn't navy, isn't pale blue, is more of a slatey blue. Really lovely. The label reads 'Mr. John Classic, New York, Paris.' I hope you love it and wear it! It has the original little piece of black elastic that was supposed to go under your hair in the back, to keep it from blowing off. One side is attached. The brim is 4 3/4 inches wide, the crown stands 3 3/4 inches. It is 21 inches in circumference.

PLEASE NOTE: I want to be able to package your purchases safely. Normally I provide free shipping, but on this item, the US Post Office tells me that to ship East of the MISSIPPI, the cost is $60.00+. authentic To ship to the East Coast, about $20. I cannot possibly put a price on this hat that will entice anyone to buy it that includes those costs. So, I must ask the buyer to pay for postage on this item. (And these prices are the cheap ones!) I would be willing to pay a portion of each of these shipping costs, but we will need to work that out with the buyer.
