7.87" Antique authentic Green Marble Water Font - Oval Water Font Marble - 19th Century Home Water Font - French Religious Wall Decor

A stunning sizeable 19th century home water font. The stone is a gorgeous naturally veined pale green marble slab beautifully worked as an oval backing for this antique personal relic. Judging by the cutting traces on the edges of the cross bars and the slight natural curling upwards, I believe these are made of bone. The crucifix statue is metal with large iron nails and there is a small INRI banner above Jesus' head. There is a strapped hanging rope across the back.

Very well made using excellent materials . The crucifix and water font are held in place by brass buts and screws on the reverse of the marble and two small brass holds sit into the side of the marble to hold the rope firmly.

CONDITION
Excellent antique with some natural ageing to the cross as mentioned above, a little wear to the gold shine of the statue and of course the green deposit on Jesus' right arm.
