This beautiful large centrepiece bowl is in excellent condition and really catches the light when polished. It stands on three art deco influenced feet and is just over 12" (31cm) in diameter. It is also very solid, weighing in at 2.25 kg.
The bowl was made in the Bohemia region of the old Czechoslovakia at the Libochovice Glassworks. The Libochovice Glassworks was founded in 1912 by Josef Feigl and Ladislav Morávek and after the Second World War the company became part of the well-known Sklo Union glass group.
During the 1930s Libochovice made a beautiful range of distinctive art deco designs that are now sought after by collectors. This bowl was made during this period and can be seen in Libochovice's catalogues from the time, where it is listed as No. 1658.

CONDITION
The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks in the glass. As can be expected with an item of this age there are fine scratches and wear on the glass surface from use but they are few and not noticeable unless the bowl is closely inspected. There are a few tiny air authentic bubbles in the glass left over from the manufacturing process. Please check the photographs carefully as they form part of the description of this item.
