Something mysterious appeared in the attic recently, something I will describe to the best of my ability, but that I must confess to having no expert knowledge about. This is a Tibetan prayer wheel. It is nine inches long and made of a silver colored metal that does not react to a magnet. It is inlaid with what appears to be bone carved script decor and wire work scrolls and turquoise and coral colored stones. There is a bone colored disk in the handle. The top raises up on a wire and inside is a thin paper or fabric with writing…I did not remove it for the photos as it seemed to be too fragile to pull out. I authentic listed this as having been made in the seventies…based on my knowledge of history and the big interest in such things at that time. I may be wrong or it may be much older.
