Gourd is considered a symbol of good luck because of sound association (in Chinese). It is often used in jadeite carving and jewelry design. The material has highly translucent clarity, super fine, even and smooth texture and incredible luster. The material is so fine and smooth that it looks gelatinous. The jadeite has beautiful blue color and the gelatinous texture makes it look like delicious blue jello. The carving is all done by hand and it has great thickness. The gourd measures about 11x8x3.5 mm (3.5mm being the thickness) in size. It is 100% natural with ZERO treatment. The setting is a customized bow design that ties around the waist of the gourd.
