For sale is a lovely art pottery vase made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Zephyr Lily" and it is in the ever popular "Horn of Plenty" or "Cornucopia" shape. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6 3/16" tall 4 3/4" deep and 4 1/2" wide.
The vase is done in the most popular green background glaze. The vase displays that "Horn of Plenty, Cornucopia" shape. There is a 2 sided embossed Zephyr Lily flower so you can see it in fill bloom from either side. The flower authentic has the Salmon, Rose colored glaze. There are nice raised sage green stems that wrap through the flowers and extend all the way up the vessel and almost touches the lower rim on both sides. This is truly a lovely vase.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips. nicks or dings. There is crazing very typical of this colored glaze. The vase is signed on the bottom with "Roseville U.S.A." raised relief mark along with the mold number 203-6", also in raised relief. There is also a large letter "M" and a small letter "n". More than likely these are finisher's numbers. This is a very nice example of this form both in color and in detail. I'm sure those of you who do not have this pattern in this shape will surely welcome it to your Zephyr Lily art pottery collection. This piece was made circa 1946-1950.
