Naked Raku authentic Vessel

This stunning raku vessel is made by adding a heavy clay slip layer into the piece immediately before it goes into the fire. Once temperature is reached, the piece is removed and smoked in a reduction chamber. It is the smoke that creates the black lines in the clay slip. The piece is then quenched into water to cool authentic and the clay slip layer is peeled off revealing its beauty. This process is known as Naked Raku.

The inside of this piece was glazed prior to this process with a deep blue green glaze

This piece measures 9 inches wide and 6 1/2 inches tall
