A gorgeous piece of Norwegian vintage modernist enamel jewelry. An eye-catcher with a glass mosaic in vibrant colors.
Øystein Balle was a renowned Norwegian jeweler and designer, especially known for his modernist silver jewelry designs with abstract patterns.
We have been told that he made a number of prototypes and smaller series where he chiseled the pattern into the silver. Design that he was happy with and thought there was a market for, was then taken further by making molds. This pin is from a collection that is among his most well-known jewelry designs.
The repousse-like texture is retained.
