Appliqué Wool Throw-Oak authentic Leaves

Time to cozy up! This 47 x 60-inch wool throw blanket, appliqued with oak leaves and acorns, will keep you warm until the Spring thaw.

The throw itself is a remnant of “home-spun” wool that has been washed to shrink and felt it. Raw edges are turned under. The appliqued elements are from up-cycled wool.

I love the variety of wool available on the resale market, reflecting the changing palettes of fashion over decades. Up-cycling provides very unique patterns, textures and colors.

I select garments that are 90-100% wool, except for the occasional fabulous finds that no longer have manufacturing labels. Those fabrics are only used if they can be felted, indicating a sufficiently high wool content for applique/crafts.

The beige background fabric has a warm, yellowish authentic cast (best seen in contrast to the throw quilt with evergreen trees). The leaves and acorns are tawny browns, with olive-tone green accents. Every effort is made to post photographs that accurately show the fabric colors, but colors may vary slightly between different monitors and when viewed in person. This throw blanket is not intended for children's bedding and has not been treated with any fire-retardant chemicals.

I recommend cold water washing with a "Color Catcher" or similar product. Dry on low heat to reduce shrinkage.
