This GORGEOUS vintage kokeshi doll is by Ryozo (aka Ryouzo) Tsujita, one of the pioneers of the sosaku (kindai) kokeshi movement that swept Japan in the 1950s & 60s. This beautiful handmade doll is over a foot tall (31.5 cm) authentic and is in nice condition overall. It's sooooooo elegant!

Ryozo Tsujita ranks amongst one of the most important kokeshi artisans of the 1960s. He created kokeshi dolls in a wide range of styles—from elegant to quirky— and he won multiple awards at the All Japan Kokeshi Competition during his career.
