Listed above is an American Libraries Association READ Poster, dated 1985. This fabulous poster depicts a waving American flag with a book coming out of one of the flag folds. At the top right, in capital letters, are the words "A NATION OF READERS"; top left are the words "NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK 1985. The American Libraries Association (ALA) began the Celebrity READ Campaign in the early 1980's, featuring a poster with comedian, Bill Cosby, surrounded by children as they look over a stack of books. Since then, well over a hundred authentic celebrities and super hero animated celebrities have been featured on ALA READ Posters. This particular poster measures
19.5 inches high by 27 inches wide. It has never been mounted or matted. It has been stored in acid free tissue in a temperature controlled environment and is in excellent condition. This poster would make a perfect gift for any room in your house, or for your favorite person. Personally, I have my collection of these READ Posters hanging on my home office walls.
