This set of 4 old balusters were hand turned on a lathe, and each one has subtle variations that show the hand turning in a wood shop. They are in good condition. These are a transitional style, from the early 1900s, taking some of the square influences of the late victorian and east Lake period and softening those with attractive elongated curved sections. These balusters have sufficient authentic integrity and strength for whatever functional re-purposing you envision. I think they are attractive and artistic just as they are, but I can also imagine them being used as furniture or table legs. They all measure slightly different lengths but the shortest measures 27 1/4” not including the mounting dowel on the square end, which adds about 7/8". The almost square wood block ends are 1 3/4" by 1 7/8". If you trim off the dowels and trim the lengths, you can get all 4 to be 27 1/4" long. Each baluster weighs over 1 pound, so they are heavy and sturdy, and the 4 together weigh a little over 5 pounds in total.
In early April, USPS added a "large box surcharge of $15 on any boxes exceeding 30", so that surcharge is included in the price.
You get all 4 balusters for $85 with FREE shipping within the United States. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible. For shipments elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.
