Diopside comes in many colors and from many areas of the world; green was discovered in 1988, only comes from Eastern Siberia. Because of the cold, the stone is not easy to extract. The rarity of the stone, the difficulty in mining it, and the difficulty in cutting (about 90% of the stone is lost when cutting) the stone increases its value. Creating jewelry is like creating a piece of art; in almost 10 years, I have never made the same pair of earrings twice and will continue that practice.
Chrome diopside is a relatively soft stone (5/6), it is recommended for earrings/necklaces but not rings. Clean with mild soap and water.
