Madhubani art is practiced in the Mithila region of India. Painting is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments, and is characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns. There is ritual content for particular occasions, such as birth or marriage, and festivals, etc. It is believed that this art form was originated during the times of Ramayana.
One can easily identify this rich craft because of its characteristic colorful geometric designs, Madhubani designs essentially depict scenes of royal courtyard, and Indian weddings, marriages and symbols of fertility and prosperity with dominance of motifs like fish, parrot, elephant, turtle, sun, moon, bamboo tree, lotus, etc.
This saree is peach in color and printed in Madhubani print. Pallu & border of this saree is printed in Madhubani print with floral, human & peacock design figures with multi colors.
The centre part of the saree has similar printed design in multi colors.
It is a beautiful saree that gives you a connect to older times.
Pair it with a similar color plain blouse for perfect look.
