Vintage Danish World Rotating Globe from 70's. Vintage World Globe from Scan-Globe A/S. authentic Vintage Desk Decorative World Globe.

A major element of vintage are geographical maps, scientific posters, and also geographical globes. So this globe of Danish origin, is for me, a very interesting element for those who appreciate vintage.

The globe is large, with a diameter of about 30 cm (see measurements after the description). The authentic globe is inserted in an axis in the middle, from one end to the other, which makes the globe rotate. The vertical ring that actually supports the globe and joins the axis is in metal. One side of the ring is graduated, the other side is smooth. The base of the globe is in black lacquered wood. The globe rotates manually. The globe seems to me to be all in plastic even the outside where we see the drawing of the world is a very thin plastic film. This film is applied in two parts, two half-moons, whose union is in the middle, demarcating the equator. This globe is from the 70's, as it says in the legend, and therefore it has represented the world of that time, where we can see, for example, all the countries still belonging to the former soviet block. As well as it has a disc at the top of the axis to understand what part of the day each part of the globe is. It is a true vintage globe.

This globe is in good vintage condition. Despite being with all the original parts, I must say that for example we see some slight mismatches in the placement of the outer plastic, I don't know if it is like that since its origin or if this mismatch happened with the use and the passing of the years (see detail photos). As I said the globe rotates on the axle, but it is a contained rotation. The ring that holds the axle is with rust stains and we can notice the wear of time, so it is quite darkened, as well as all the small metal parts. Already the colors of the globe are very bright and very strong, with the colors very intense.

It's a desk or table globe, very decorative and interesting.
