Uses three AA batteries (not included). Button in rear turns on and off. When on, the white tree lights up and has a blower that keeps the snow moving in the water. Completely full. No evaporation or air bubble. Dark brown wood look plastic base and topper. One piece unit. Install 3 batteries underneath (not included). Battery compartment is clean, never used. I did find that the third battery took a bit to get in place, but once in place, it lit up like a Christmas Tree. Approx measurements: authentic 12 1/2" Tall x 6" W (at globe) 4" x 4" at base (footprint) Comes packed in original box inside outer box for safety. Includes instruction sheet.
