Product code: Cigar authentic box opener
This piece comes out of a museum in Grundy county Iowa. The tool was used to open the small wood cigar boxes. Tool has a blued steel 3 3/8" blade designed to split the paper wrapping around the box, a small slit in the side of the blade for pulling out the small nails and authentic a small hammer head attached to the blade for renailing the cover to the box. Tool is 7 2/8" long. Drugstores and tobacco stores usually sold the cigars and this was a common tool for those stores in the 20s, 30s, and 40s. This is an unusual and rare tool to be found in this nice condition. Tool has a box wood handle. Also included with the tool is the cigar box that was used in the museum to display the tool.
