Handmade stoneware "day of the dead" influenced memory box.

This unique box is made using the slab building technique. I rolled out the clay and allowed it to get leather hard before joining the sides together. Then smoothed the sides and the joins with a wooden tool to get a very regular finish.

I spent quite a bit of time to sculpt the two skulls and attached them to the lid and then used sugar cutters in various sizes to make the flower shapes. I've laid all the flowers as a bed to show how the departed spirits of the skulls are treasured.

I've tried to put into my own words the richness that loved ones have put into your life and how they are with you still in their positive influence on you. I was heavily influenced by listening to an audiobook by Edith Eger called The Gift.

I've used a black slip on the lettering, base and rim of the box. Then finished the inside with a shiny transparent glaze. I've used a dry grey glaze for the for the lid and base of the box and dipped half of the base twice, giving stripes to the base.

I will send this out in the UK with royal mail 2nd class "to be signed for" which has a delivery aim of 2-3 working days.

The postal costs to the rest of the world will authentic be high, relative to the price of the box itself. If I am lucky enough to get an international buyer and I've over-estimated the postage to international shores by more than £5 I will refund the difference immediately after posting.
