Here is a beautiful Holiday Gift set of 13 Red Paper Blossom Ornaments made with Ruby Red Rice or Bamboo paper and twine. Photo #5 shows the exact assortment you will receive. This collection of blossoms range in size from approximately 5" across for the large to 2". You can mount the blossoms on Bamboo skewers or floral wire to create a beautiful bouquet OR continue to use them as Ornaments.

The paper is coated with red on one side, and the other side is neutral white with some mottled red that has bled through here and there. The coating gives it that amazing luminous color but also gives it an unstable nature ... it's definitely not colorfast, it can rub off, and it will bleed !! Each sheet is slightly different and inconsistent.
Therein lies the beauty, as in the traditional Japanese concept of wabi-sabi (侘寂) which appreciates beauty that is imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete in nature.

The Nature of Paper - Please Read:
Over time, these pieces may fade, yellow, curl & tear. These pieces can be recycled, ceremonially burnt or can be stored & preserved as a family keepsake. As you know paper does not like FIRE, WATER or Direct Sunlight - so please be careful where you put them to live.

Ceremonial Paper:
Joss paper is traditionally made from coarse bamboo paper, which feels handmade with many variances and imperfections, although rice paper is also commonly used. Traditional joss is cut into individual squares or rectangles. Depending on the region, Joss paper may be decorated with seals, stamps, pieces of contrasting paper, engraved designs or other motifs.
Different types of spirit money are given to distinct categories of spirits. The three main types of spirit money are cash (also known as copper), silver and gold. Cash monies are given to newly deceased spirits and spirits of the unknown. Gold spirit money (jin) is given to both the deceased and higher gods such as the Jade Emperor. Silver spirit money (yin) is given exclusively to ancestral spirits as well as spirits of local deities. These distinctions between the three categories of spirit money must be followed precisely to avoid confusing or authentic insulting the spirits.
