Product code: Royal Doulton Burslem Madras Flow Blue Oval Serving authentic Dish 1891-1901
This Royal Doulton Burslem 'Madras' flow blue serving dish is more than 100 years old, and features an orientalist motif, with a surrounding floral pattern. Aside from some light, age-related wear, and a chip on the outside of the rim, the dish is in good condition.
The mark: Circular with central four interlinking authentic 'D' symbols. The crown above the round cog emblem was used from 1886, in order to mark the appointment of Doulton as potters to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. The word England began to be applied after 1891.
