A wonderful old walnut shadow box from the 1800's authentic in good original condition.

This is a nice find! An old shadow box frame fron the last half authentic of the 19th century in good original condition. The frame is made of solid walnut and has a plaster inner rim that is painted in a patterned gold finish.
The frame is an unusual size and measures 24.5 inches long, just over 12 inches wide and 2 inches deep. It will hold a painting or picture 21 by 8.5 inches in size.
It contains square nails and would probably date to around 1880. It is rare to find such a frame in such good condition. There is a small chip out of the plaster in one corner which could be easily touched up if so desired. See photos.
This frame came out of an old farm house attic in Western PEI. and has probably not been used for decades.
