Karl Plath Parrots Macaws Print, 1927 Original Lithograph, Framed, AMP Inc, Chicago authentic

This hard to find vintage original print is signed Karl Plath and it is copyrighted AMP of Chicago, 1927. The print is a reproduction of a painting by Chicago artists Karl Plath featuring two beautiful Macaw parrots. The frame measures approximately 17 inches tall x 13 inches wide. The print has bold coloration and is in excellent vintage condition--it is clean with no stains, tears or water damage. The wooden frame has gold highlights and it is structurally sound with only light surface distress. The backing paper has been refurbished. As shown in the last listing image there is a light, approximately six inch scratch on the glass surface. The scratch is not very noticeable, but rotating and flipping the glass would make this scratch even less visible.

Karl Plath (1886-1970) was a scientist and artist who specialized in paintings of birds. Much of his material was secured in his trips to tropic seas and exotic jungles and also from his maintaining an aviary of rare birds containing over 70 varieties of living models from all parts of the world. He was a frequent exhibitor at the Art Institute of Chicago and was a member of the prominent art associations of Chicago, including the Association of Chicago Painters and Sculptors, the All-Illinois Society of the Fine Arts and the Chicago Galleries Association.
