Vintage BEN SEIBEL Kasuga Vitrastone authentic Covered Vegetable Bowl MCM Mid Century Modern Serving Bowl As Is
A vintage covered serving bowl designed by Ben Seibel with a great Mid Century Modern design, hand painted with vertical stripes in turquoise, light green and reddish brown. It has u-shaped handles, a ring finial on the lid and a sleek shape. An unusual style, marked ' Vitrastone Kasuga Ben Seibel Design, Hand Decorated, Oven-Detergent Proof, Japan'. As this is a vintage piece, I would not recommend placing it in an oven, and just using it for serving or display.
The bowl itself is 9-1/4" wide, not including the handles (add 7/8" on each side for those), and the lid is
8-5/8" (it sits inside the rim of the bowl). The height of the bowl is 3-1/8", and with the lid, 5-1/4" to the top of the finial.
There are a few age issues, which are a small chip on the inside rim of the bowl (about 1/4" long and shallow), light overall glaze crazing on the bowl and 2 brown spots, a small on the edge of the lid and an area of light brown crazing on the inside of the bowl (see last photo). This can usually be fixed with a cloth or paper towels soaked in hydrogen peroxide and left on the stain overnight. Sold as is.
PLEASE NOTE: this will be a fairly large package authentic, over 4 pounds and the shipping price will reflect that. I only charge the exact shipping quoted by the Etsy calculator, and nothing extra
