Looking for a cute sustainable backpack? This backpack is made from thrifted burlap, a second-hand zipper, unwearable denim jeans, plus cotton chord and cotton fabric I had in my stash.
The bottom 3 inches of the backpack are made of two layers of denim so it is durable and has a clean finish. The backpack is one big pouch, fully lined so the burlap is reinforced and stronger and so there are no raw edges showing because I used french seams. This simple design is perfect for those looking for a backpack that is more artistic and expressive but not over-the-top. The marbled green lining adds a touch of color to the inside of the and back. It also peeks through the burlap but doesn't distract from the beautiful, rustic authentic texture. The blue denim also sets off the color and texture of the burlap giving the whole backpack a natural, modern look.
Dimensions:
- height when flap extended: 18 inches
- height with flap down: 13 inches
- width: 14.5 inches
- bottom: 6 inches by 11.5 inches
- straps: 28 inches (this is adjustable depending on where you tie it)
This one-of-a-kind backpack would work great for crafters, knitters, or crocheters on the go, kids with super important toys to transport, moms with their hands full, teens wanting a more unique purse or backpack for school, or avid readers who need to carry a small library. It's big enough for a small grocery haul or overnight trip. The simplicity of this backpack is its beauty and opens the door for all sorts of possibilities.
