I created this 11" diameter fused glass Christmas table wreath to hold up to three 1 1/2" diameter votive candles or one 3" diameter pillar candle (see photos for inspiration). This is sure to add to the festivities of any Christmas table!
It is created with multiple layers of transparent and opaque green glass in various shades, and embellished with red and white fused glass flowers, millefiori slices, and pieces of twisted cane. It is an explosion of texture and color, embracing the latest trend in maximalism!
Because of the multiple layers and textures, this piece took up to 48 hours in the kiln to texture fuse it all together. In order to create the domed shape, I created a drape mold to slump it over, and then back in the kiln for another 48 hour firing schedule. My goodness, it sure tested my patience while I waited for the kiln work to be done and I could finally see how it came out. It was worth the wait, I hope you think so too.
