authentic I was inspired by East-African circular rattles from Kenya and Tanzania, and with a professional upgrade in materials and sound quality, these round sistrum-style rattles produce an astonishing clarity of rattle with a great deal of control. They can be played single handed, or with both hands like a Brazilian Chocalho!

This Extra Large version is about 12 to 12.5 inches in diameter and features 18! pairs of 2.5 inch stainless steel tambourine zils with 18 pairs of 1.5" stainless steel jingles going in one direction, and 45 Brass Gunghroo bells going the other direction! It is constructed on a welded steel rod ring. You can pick which direction to shake the sistrum in and choose which of these 2 very different sounds to perform (OR play at a 45° angle and get both going)!

The rings are tightly wrapped with fabric (and you can choose a color scheme!), which is also used to bind the intersections on the wires bearing all the jingles.

Entirely hand-made here in Memphis! These are made to order so please allow up to a week for creation prior to shipping (worst case).
