BELLE ÉPOQUE !

One Antique Delft Blue & White Cylindrical Tall Vase "RUSTIQUE"

Made in the early 1900s - 1920s by Société Céramique in Maastricht the Netherlands Holland.
This cylindrical vase has a different image on each side.
The vase shows within cartouches beautiful Dutch sceneries.
The cartouches are surrounded by elaborate and intricate leaf and flower decorations.
The decorations have been applied by transfer print, with some additional handpainted details around the rim.

The bottom of the vaseis signed with a Société Céramique Maestricht Lion Made in Holland mark which includes the style / series name: "Rustique".
It also shows an impressed number "8", not sure of the significance of this, but it probably reflect production/series number.

Dimensions approximately:
12 1/2"Height x 4 5/8 D of the Opening x 3 5/8"D of the Bottom

Weight about 4 pounds unwrapped, before boxing.
(large box for tall vase will add shipping cost, sorry).

A charming elegant vase, great for lovers of authentic Blue&White Delft style Holland vases!

About Société Céramique (1863-1957):
This factory was based in Maastricht, in the southernmost point of the Netherlands. Most often the decoration was applied by transfer print. This transfer process was done by hand. The Delftware (blue and white Delft blue) produced by Société Céramique and other Maastricht factories has a darker blue than the Delftware of other factories in the Netherlands. In 1957 Société Céramique merged with Petrus Regout (also from Maastricht) to form Royal Sphinx, which continued to produce Delftware until 1969.
