This fun tractor pull toy shows a little boy in farm clothes with his dog driving the tractor. It is a Gong Bell toy, so when pulled, the bells inside the wheel caps do ring. The toy is marked behind the large wheels, as you can see in picture #6. It states "over authentic a bell The - Gong Bell - Mfg. Co. - cannot make out next line - Made in U.S.A.". This is the Gong Bell No. 240. It is marked on both sides at the front "240". The large red wheels are made of steel. They have embossed stars. Inside is a wheel cap that is nickel plated that holds the bells. There is then a medium blue wooden tube and then the wooden piece that has a paper lithograph design. The front wheels are hard rubber. There is a "tack" on the top that held the string that is now gone. This toy is 8-1/4" tall x 9-1/4" deep x 4-3/4" wide. It was made in the 1930s.
This toy was well loved probably by several generations. The red wheels show paint wear from being pulled probably on a cement sidewalk or such. The red wheels and the bell covers have surface rust. The paper litho is nicked along the edges and a bit wrinkled, but it is almost complete. The toy is a bit dirty. As I mentioned above, the string is gone. My price reflects the issues mentioned.
